My friend, truth is never to be found (and you most likely will be led astray) outside of God’s Holy Word, the Bible! Not from:
About me: I do not associate with any denomination nor church and do not perform any religious “rituals”. I believe in the simple Gospel of Jesus, Who took upon Himself the sins of and died in the place of whosoever will believe on His name and acknowledge their sin; and Who gives new life here and now, and eternal life in Heaven forever. I believe in His Word, the Bible, as our sole source of truth and God’s Ten Commandments and Law of Love as our blueprint for living.

What is society’s problem? Is it guns, opioids, or some other vice making its rounds? No! The root of the problem is old-fashioned sin. We never hear that word anymore and therein lies the problem. We must stop trying to treat the symptoms (gun violence, drug addition, crime, etc.) and strike at the root. How? The only known cure for reversal of a sin-laden heart is the saving blood of Jesus Christ. Unless we first admit we have a sin problem, admit we cannot help ourselves, reach out to God Who provided the sin-cure through His Son, we will never get out of this cesspool of immorality and evil we are mired in. Having read numerous depressing incidents of needless deaths in the newspaper that could have easily been prevented by taking some common-sense steps to stay alive, here’s a summary of what you need to know to stay alive. Please convey this important information to your children, aging parents, and other loved ones, as well: 1. Look both ways before entering a road—there may be cars coming! 2. Do not meet anyone (known or a stranger) in a remote, secluded location. 3. Opioid use: when the pain starts to fade, extricate yourself from the drug gradually (for example, take one-half instead of one, then one-quarter, etc.). This may have to occur without the doctor’s supervision (many are bribed into continually providing you with more pills). Just get off the drug, to save your life. If you find you can’t do it alone, get help. There are many resources, from 12-Step programs to rehab facilities. Whatever you do, do NOT get onto heroin—it’s a death sentence plain and simple. 4. Do not join a gang. Gangs are evil and a death cult. Sooner or later you will wind up in jail or dead. 5. Do not marry an abuser (this advice is for both men and women). There will be signs; look for them. Examples: controlling, jealous, anger outbursts, history of violence, tracking you, cruel jokes, bullying and belittling you, and many more you will see if you keep your eyes and mind open. These behaviors can and will most likely escalate to violence including murder. 6. Before crossing a train track by car (even with the crossing “guard” up): look both ways, listen intently, then drive across quickly. If you sense (sound, lights, vibration) a train approaching, do NOT cross! In addition, do not walk on train tracks; it’s a bad habit and you could sprain an ankle, fall, pass out or otherwise become immobilized then—dead! 7. Don’t get fat. I don’t recommend any diet; however, I do suggest eating a healthy variety of food via 3 meals a day. Also, you must include exercise every day (even ordinary housework). Overweight and obesity lead to a plethora of health conditions, including death. 8. Believe in something greater than yourself. I recommend Christianity. You need to decide for yourself. Faith can lead to greater self-esteem, enabling one to avoid drugs and other addictions, abusive relationships, and a host of other negative behaviors. To Be Continued... 5/12/19
Often when I pick up our daily newspaper, I read news of a new school shooting somewhere in our country. There is much talk of contingency plans (ALICE - Alert, Lockdown, Inform, Counter, Evacuate) for example. However, I think it’s about time we begin discuss the root of the problem. Controlling the gun-person, more stringent gun-buying rules, running and hiding: these do not address the root of the violence problem among today’s youth surfacing in our education institutions. Here are some possible contributors: • Taking God and prayer out of our schools • Violent video games that youth play via XBox, iOS apps, and other venues • “Cult of Death” mentality running rampant in today’s society. For examples: partial-birth abortion, lax jail sentences for murderers, allowing mentally ill to commit murder and get away with it, violent and dark art, tattoos, etc. • Violent and horror movies: No, they are not harmless fun; these films gradually wear down the conscience, that sense of empathy for one’s fellow human being. • Violent depictions on social media - visuals make an impression on youth, especially videos • Lack of respect for our fellow human beings. Rudeness prevails in today’s iPhone-connected society. • Atheism and other false religions. Only one (true) religion, Christianity, comes with a set of “Plans for Life”, called the Ten Commandments, written in our Creator’s Book of Life—the Bible. This alone provides our blueprint for right and wrong and should be the foundation of our laws. Our Founding Fathers were believers and wrote up a good set of rules for governing this country. We have drifted further and further away from God, the Bible, and our Constitution. We are not really free; we are “slaves to sin”. Liberals and Progressives are calling evil good and good evil. Examples: Homosexuals are the new normal; “Cisgender” (God-created male and female) are the new outcasts. Transgenders are the victims; “Cisgender” are the bullies. Even White Caucasians are now under attack! A divided country - for many years now, starting under Obama’s presidency, groups have been pitted against each other (not conservatives’ doing, either): • blacks vs. whites (it’s all manufactured racism) • criminals vs. police • LGBTQ vs. “straight” (God’s version of normal) • Democrats vs. Republicans In summary, our country will continue its decline unless some sort of revival occurs. Will it happen? Only God knows. What we can do as Christians is to do what we can with what we have, where we are. I like to discern and inform. I like to be able to see the big picture of this tiny spinning globe in an infinite universe; and we, infinitesimally small, going about our daily business, watched over by the Grand Creator of it all. Let’s return to God’s Way while there is still hope, and save countless innocent lives. |
