- Is there contact information, such as a publisher or email address?
- Does it have an *agenda or bias? Well-known does not always mean authoritative.
- When was the information published or posted?
- Does the date affect the content or context?
- Has the information been revised or updated?
- Does your topic require current information, or will older sources work as well?
- Are the links functional? (applies to the web)
- Where does the information come from?
- Is the information supported by evidence?
- Has the information been reviewed or refereed (said of articles or books that have undergone peer review)?
- Can the content be verified by multiple sources?
- Does the language or tone seem unbiased and free of emotion? Does this article provoke an emotional response? The intent of a valid news source is to inform. While an emotional response to specific information is to be expected, inaccurate news articles are often written for the sole purpose of provoking anger, outrage, fear, happiness, excitement or confirmation of ones' own beliefs.
- Are there spelling, grammar or typographical errors?

Also beware of publications (The Epoch Times, for example) that contain a mixture of truth and conspiracies/false information. Do NOT trust any of its health information, since the newspaper is founded upon a false religion (Falun Gong, a made-up religion based on Buddhism). I find The Epoch Times to be the best source of reliable, conservative news articles, but critical reading is necessary. Christians must filter everything they read or listen to through the truth found in God’s Word, the Bible.

Since “common sense” seems not too common anymore, here are some basics as a refresher.
- God made 1) Male and 2) Female. Note: there is such a thing as “intersex”, although it’s very rare. Gender follows accordingly (albeit often women have male traits and vice-versa). "Feelings-based" genders, pronouns, and the like are pure nonsense and an attack on God's perfect plan for humanity.
- Marriage is between one Man and one Woman. Same-sex “Civil Unions” are fine, provided they stay platonic. Anything else is called “sin” (see homosexuality, covered below).
- Obey the police at all times--it's the best way to avoid injury or death.
- Don’t take drugs! This includes street-drugs such as meth, cocaine, heroin, etc. If you use cannibis, ensure it’s homegrown. This is especially important these days since so many drugs are laced with deadly fentanyl. A new, more potent/lethal ingredient is now making the rounds.
- If you find yourself addicted to opioids, get help ASAP; do NOT go to other drugs (see above point).
- Stay away from any form of crypto-currency. You know what happened to FTX. These companies crash/go bankrupt and worse all the time. Stick with the tried-and-true cash/check/credit card--at least for the time being.
- Don't utilize genetic testing (family tree research) kits, since they may be manufactured in China. Did you know the CCP can use Americans' DNA as a reference for nefarious purposes, such as gain-of-function virus manipulation?

Deception:
"Take heed that no one deceives you. For many will come in My name, saying, ‘I am the Christ,’ and will deceive many" (Matt. 24:4-5).
The Sign of Disputes among Nations:

The Sign of Devastation:

According to the World Health Organization, there have been recent outbreaks of yellow fever, the plague, Nipah virus, meningitis, and many others. To make matters worse, "superbugs" are developing resistance to antibiotics. We are also witnessing an increase in the frequency and intensity of earthquakes.
Christian Persecution:
In the Last Days, there will be a marked increase of antagonism toward God's people: "Then they will deliver you up to tribulation and kill you, and you will be hated by all nations for My name's sake." (Matt. 24:9).

What does "woke" mean?
Definition of "Woke" from Merriam Webster Dictionary:
"Aware of and actively attentive to important societal facts and issues (especially issues of racial and social justice)”
My (and most conservatives') usage of the term refers to individuals and groups pushing their progressive, liberal, and/or immoral values and agenda via activism and/or division on all the citizens of a country.
Some examples of “wokeism” in our current society: LGBTQIA+; “racism” (including reparations for past slave ownership); DEI; ESG; “Cancel Culture” (rewriting history, destroying statues, renaming buildings and roads, etc.); “climate change”; censorship, etc. Examples abound in the current news; most government agencies, large corporations, and Big Tech have gone this route. The US is not alone in this mindset, either. Look at the UK, Australia, Canada, and other many other countries.
I believe that behind (or in addition to) this trend is a plan for global control (read up on this for yourself). What will be some of the techniques used? Diversion (celebrities, TikTok, video games, etc.) for one. Another is the concept of the “common good,” as in giving up individual rights for the benefit of the collective. Fear would be a third. In this case, "climate change” threatens humanity with "extreme" weather; hence opportunities to place us under their control.

Where did these all come from? My guesses are: 1) basis for government/elite control; 2) opportunities for BIG Pharma (unhealthy chemicals, basically); 3) opportunities to claim "victim" status. Power and greed for the first two; refusal to accept personal responsibility for the third.
When I was growing up (60's, 70's, 80's), we had "shy", "neurotic", and several others. We possessed "personality"--something that God gives each person. We need to make the best of what we have been given, accept personal responsibility for our actions, admit and confess sin, and commit to doing all things for God's glory.

Yet another tenet of “woke” mentality, try searching Google for this one; they are all promoting it now, as with “climate change.”
Here is the truth: This gender "confusion" is a SIN against God’s plan for the family (God created male & female). Please understand that it’s common for women to have male personality traits (such as myself) and interests; the same goes for men (they may like feminine things such as fashion, work as a nurse, etc.) They remain their birth sex (gender). I am not a fan of the "family" concept personally; however, if one wishes to procreate, the child(ren) must have both a mother and a father. Anything else leads to the gradual decline of morality and/or society.

However, as a Christian, we are called to identify sin where we see it. The invasion of modern Marxist ideologies into our current society is subtle. I started noticing back in 2020, although some things (destroying statues, etc.) were happening prior to that year. Note that socialism and communism (see my notes below) also have an influence here.
- Cancel Culture (Destroy) - Starting with the destruction of confederate statues, and continuing with renaming highways, schools, and other landmarks. Removing “offensive” logos, banning/rewriting books, calling out "misinformation", and more.
- Class Struggle (Division) - So-called "racism" (BLM, CRT) is actually designed to create a deep divide and resentment between ethnicities (Blacks & white Caucasians). Notice that most everything is “racist” in some way? It’s all a part of their agenda.
- Rewriting history - the list goes on...

Marxism vs. Communism vs. Socialism
Communism and socialism are both types of governments or theoretical governments rooted in Marxism, but they vary slightly.
Marxism:Communism
At its core, communism opposes capitalism (an economic and political system in which a country's trade and industry are controlled by private owners for profit). In an effort to get rid of capitalism, communist governments, in theory, pay workers according to their ability and needs and remove capitalists by having a strong central government own all property publicly. China is an example.
Communism taken to the extreme becomes its own form of oppression; for example, North Korea. While they are a communist country, their own visions and ways of thinking have been added to the theory. The leader of that country is an outright authoritarian dictator.
Marxism: Socialism
Socialism is a system of politics and economics rooted in Marxist ideals, in which central government owns all means of wealth, but individuals can still own property. Also, unlike the violent uprisings that can accompany communism, socialism typically occurs through reforms and changes with an elected government. While a true socialist society doesn’t exist, Norway and Denmark come close. However, these governments still have capitalist sectors.
