the lord's prayerOur Father, who art in heaven, Hallowed be thy Name. Thy Kingdom come. Thy will be done, On earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses, As we forgive them that trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, But deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever and ever. Amen. |

ACTS Prayer Method
A – Adoration “You are worthy, our Lord and God, to receive glory and honor and power, for you created all things, and by your will they were created and have their being.” -Revelation 4:11 Start your prayers with praise. Praise God for who He is. Worship Him and acknowledge His greatness. Praise keeps your eyes fixed on God. C- Confession Whoever conceals their sins does not prosper, but the one who confesses and renounces them finds mercy. -Proverbs 28:13 Tell God you're sorry for where you've fallen short, where your actions haven't lived up to His expectations, where you haven't done something you should have. Then ask for forgiveness and for help to do better next time. Consider what you've done and left undone. God is ready to forgive you and apply His grace and mercy, but you first need to confess and ask for forgiveness. T – Thanksgiving Let them give thanks to the Lord for his unfailing love and his wonderful deeds for mankind, for he satisfies the thirsty and fills the hungry with good things. -Psalm 107:8-9 Give thanks to God, the Giver of all good gifts (James 1:17). It is God’s will that we give thanks in all circumstances (1 Thessalonians 5:18). Tell God "thank you" for His work in your life. Give thanks for all His blessings bestowed on you. Gratitude helps shift our thinking from what is wrong to what is right. S – Supplication Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. -Philippians 4:6 – 7 Ask God for specific requests for yourself and others. Share what's on your heart, and where you need the Lord's help, guidance, and healing. Pray about the needs of others. The Serenity Prayer
God grant me the serenity
To accept the things I cannot change;
Courage to change the things I can;
And wisdom to know the difference.
Living one day at a time;
Enjoying one moment at a time;
Accepting hardships as the pathway to peace;
Taking, as He did, this sinful world
As it is, not as I would have it;
Trusting that He will make all things right
If I surrender to His Will;
So that I may be reasonably happy in this life
And supremely happy with Him
Forever and ever in the next.
Amen.

Twelve steps for christians
1. We admitted we were powerless over our (addictions), that our lives had become unmanageable.
"I know that nothing good lives in me, that is, in my sinful nature. For I have the desire to do what is good, but I cannot carry it out." (Romans 7:18)
2. We came to believe that GOD could restore us to sanity.
"... my grace is sufficient for you, for my POWER is made perfect in weakness." (2 Corinthians 12:9)
...for it God Who works in you to will and act according to His good purpose.. (Phil. 2:13)
3. Made a decision to turn our will and our li ves over to God's care.
... If anyone would come after me, he must deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow me." (Luke9:23)
4. Made a searching and fearless moral inventory of ourselves.
"Let us examine our ways and test them, and let us return to the Lord." (Lamentations 3:40)
5. Admitted to GOD, to ourselves and to another human being the exact nature of our wrongs.
"Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed." (James 5:16)
6. Were entirely ready to have GOD remove all these defects of character.
"If you are willing and obedient, you will eat the best from the land." (Isaiah 1:19)
7. Humbly asked Him to remove all our shortcomings.
"Humble yourselves before the Lord, and He will lift you up." (James 4:10)
8. Made a list of all persons we had harmed and became willing to make amends to them all.
"Therefore, if you are offering your gift at the altar and there remember that your brother has something against you, leave your gift there in front of the altar. First go and be reconciled to your brother; then come and offer your gift." (Matthew 5:23, 24)
9. Made direct amends to such people wherever possible, except when to do so would injure them or others.
"Give and it shall be given you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you." (Luke 6:38)
10. Continued to take personal inventory and when we were wrong, promptly admitted it.
"For by the grace given me I say to every one of you: Do not think of yourself more highly than you ought, but rather think of yourself with sober judgment, in accordance with the measure of faith GOD has given you." (Romans 12:3)
11. Sought through prayer and meditation to improve our conscious contact with GOD as we understood Him, praying only for knowledge of His will, and the power to carry that out.
"May the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be pleasing in your sight, O Lord, my Rock and my Redeemer." (Psalm 19:14)
"Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly..." (Col. 3:16)
12. Having had a spiritual awakening as the result of these steps, we tried to carry this message others in need, and to practice these principles in all our affairs.
"Brothers, if someone is caught in a sin, you who are spiritual should restore him gently. But watch yourself, or you also may be tempted. Carry each other's burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ." (Galatians 6:1-2)

Deception in the church (discernment ministry)
This issue is important enough to occupy space on this page. Note there are hundreds of false teachers, "prophets", and religions in today's society. I will list some of them here, as well as reputable discernment ministries.
False Movements within the Protestant Church (*for a complete listing, see PDF document below) - Pentecostal, Assembly of God, NAR, Elijah's List (modern-day "prophets", speaking in "tongues", etc.
False Religions - Hindu, Islam, Buddhism, Falon Dafa, etc.
False "Christian" Religions - Mormon, Seventh Day Adventists, Jehovah's Witnesses, Catholic, Christadelphians, etc.

worthy Christian Charities
Although many cannot afford to donate money, these Christian organizations can use prayer.
Gospel India MissionAs you may or may not know, India has evicted Christian charities and other organizations, because it desires to recognize Hindu as their official religion (a false religion I might add). This man, Pastor Santhosh, is performing an extremely valuable work bringing the Gospel message to the remote towns and villages of India. His team really needs the support of those who are able to make donations. Please visit his website, here:
www.gospelindiamission.in/ |
Compassion InternationalIf you would like to make a difference in this world, sponsor a child through this excellent organization. They approach child development holistically--balancing physical, social, economic and spiritual care.
The children really appreciate receiving letters from their sponsors; and the families are so grateful, as well. Find out more here: www.compassion.com/about-us.htm |
BARNABAS AID
This organization works to provide hope and aid for the persecuted Church and Christians all around the world.
